Assembling a softbox can be a little tricky. Following these steps simplifies the task.

You will need a 3' x 3' clear table space to assemble the softbox.

The softbox consists of 4 parts:

  1. Softbox Skin
  2. Speed Ring
  3. Diffusers
  4. Steel Rods

STEP 1: INSERT SPEED RING
Lay the softbox skin on a flat surface with the silver surface up as shown. Begin by inserting the metal speed ring into the elastic hole in the center of the softbox and align the 4 mounts with the fabric seams as shown.

STEP 2: INSERT RODS
Now insert a rod through a hook & loop strap along a seam in the softbox (as shown in figure 3 below) and into a mount on the speed ring.

Rotate the fabric softbox and insert the remaining 3 rods in the same manner as shown in figure 4.

STEP 3: ATTACH INNER DIFFUSER
Attach the smaller inner diffuser (optional) by securing the Velcro tabs attached to the elastic corner straps to the velcro straps shown in figure 3 above.

STEP 4: ATTACH OUTER DIFFUSER
Insert the rod ends into the holes in the black fabric corners of the outer diffuser as shown in figure 5. The rods will require bending up as shown in figure 6. it is best to start with 2 opposing rods and then insert the third and forth rods.

STEP 5: FINISH SOFTBOX
Pull up the corners of the softbox material and attach it to the front diffuser corners.
